Our Journey

2015 – Asset Acquisition

May 2015: NatCom acquired core telecom assets from NiTel/MTel, including licenses, spectrum (900/1800/1900 MHz), SAT-3 submarine cable share, metro-fibre ducts, tower sites, and exchanges.

2016 – Test Data Call & VoLTE

Jan 18, 2016: First on-net test data call in Lagos.
Feb 25, 2016: First VoLTE call completed with Ericsson and Sony Mobile.

2016 – Full Network Launch

Apr 8, 2016: Full suite of 4G/LTE services, HD voice, internet access, and messaging launched—one of Nigeria’s fastest mobile network startups.

2018 – Expansion

By 2018, ntel expanded operations to Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Nassarawa, Niger, and Abuja with 400 directly-employed staff plus 800 in field operations and marketing.

2023 – Innovation Drive

Strengthened network resilience and expanded digital infrastructure for a connected Nigeria.

2025 – Current Operations
